UI Overview
Make sure to select the appropriate Object Providers for the objects you want to rename.
Optionally configure the providers settings.
Depending on the chosen providers select objects such as assets, folders or actors in the content browser or the level editor.
Make sure you have the Auto Refresh option enabled or press the Refresh button. The selected objects will now show up as items in the preview section.
Add and configure modules to compose new names for the selected objects.
1: Drag Handle for re-ordering modules. 2: Change the type of this module. 3: Whether this module should contribute to the final output. 4: Remove this module from the factory. 5: Duplicate this module. 6: Module specific properties. 7: Add a new module to the end of the module list.
Review the updated names in the preview section.
1: Manually refresh the selection. 2: If checked the selection automatically refreshes every 0.2s 3: Whether this item should be skipped when resolving the factory. 4: The current (old) name of the item. 5: The updated (new) name of the item. 6: Validation warning - hover over the icon to get more detailed info about why the updated name failed validation.
Apply the updated names to the selected objects with the Apply Changes to Objects button.
Please note that due to an engine limitation Undo doesn’t work when renaming assets and folders.
